FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Here are the top questions our clients ask before getting started.
How do tasting events work?
This can be super flexible, based on the event itself. However usually an event would involve a quick intro into tasting and what to look for, a brief summary of some commonly used terminology and then a fun, informative, interactive journey through the selected wines. We would tend to cover grape varieties, regional characteristics, particular winemaking methods used as well as the overall flavours and properties of the wines. Along the way, we would expect people to learn something new about wine, feel informed about the selections, pick up tips on wine selections and most of all have fun enjoying some delicious wines.
Can I provide my own wine?
Yes, if there are particular wines that you would like to use and you have sourced them yourself then this can be accommodated and we will provide the structure and education elements of the event only. Likewise a combination of wines selected by us with any of your own options would also work.
What is the maximum capacity for group events?
While there is not definite maximum number, the number of participants will need to be discussed and agreed on as appropriate for the location and style of the event.
How much does it cost?
We do not have flat fees for events as this is all based on the number of participants and the number and quality of wines requested. The best way to approach this is to contact us with a proposed budget and numbers and we will let you know what we can offer and take it from there.
Is there a non-alcoholic option?
The focus for these events will always be wine as that is where our passion and expertise lies. Sadly at this point we do not believe the quality and variety of alcohol free wines are at sufficient levels to host tastings on. If you wish to include a different beverage in the event alongside a selection of wines, this can be discussed while arranging the event. While we have no formal training in beer, cider, spirits or cocktails, we do have a longtime appreciation of a wide variety of alcoholic drinks and will do our best to bring a similar level of knowledge and engagement if for example a client wishes to begin with a cocktail or end with a whiskey or rum.
